U.S. Bank, a Fortune-recognized commercial bank with about 67,000 employees and operations across 10 countries, faced a growing challenge: legacy communication tools couldn’t reliably assemble recovery teams or coordinate information during crises like natural disasters, cyber incidents or regional outages. Because the bank’s infrastructure could be unavailable in an incident, emergency management needed a mobile-first, secure way to reach the right people quickly and limit legal and operational exposure.
U.S. Bank implemented xMatters, which syncs contact data daily with PeopleSoft and delivers targeted, encrypted alerts via mobile app, text and email. The system supports about 700 users across 13 global locations, enables on-demand updates to prebuilt distribution lists, and keeps teams informed even when desktops are down. The result: faster, more accurate incident reporting and response, reduced time to contact critical staff, better preparedness for events like severe weather, and greater peace of mind for emergency managers.
