Jam City worked with Unity to build Disney Magic Match 3D, a high-fidelity 3D matching game for iOS and Android. The team’s challenge was delivering smooth, consistent performance across a wide range of devices while managing overheating, large content loads, and strict visual-quality requirements.
Using Unity’s Editor extensibility and profiling tools such as Profiler, Memory Profiler, Frame Debugger, and Profiler Analyzer, Jam City optimized rendering, asset loading, initialization, and GPU-heavy content. Unity helped the team reduce frame spikes, lower draw calls and RAM usage, and cut load times, with results including a 40 fps boost on low-end Android devices, 35 fps on mid-end Android devices, 40% fewer draw calls on iOS, 45% fewer on Android, and a 55% reduction in non-network processing load time.
