Lenovo Group Integrates Intelligent Technologies with RPA Software to Improve the Efficiency of Internal Audit Process

Lenovo Group, a leading high-tech company in Asia Pacific & Japan, needed to improve the efficiency and accuracy of its employee reimbursement internal audits. Using Workday for expense reimbursements, the team had to manually download, verify, and enter large volumes of expense reports and e-invoices, creating a tedious, time-consuming process with a risk of fatigue-related errors. UiPath helped Lenovo address this challenge with robotic process automation (RPA) and intelligent technologies.

UiPath implemented an RPA-based audit robot that automatically logs into Workday, downloads and processes invoices, uses OCR to capture key invoice details, and supports automated inspection and report generation. The result was a major efficiency gain: Lenovo completed the solution in 50 days, saved about 1,500 labor hours per year, reduced internal audit time by 87%, and improved audit accuracy with a very low error rate.
