Vodafone dials up developer innovation and customer capability with Slack

Vodafone, a global telecom serving hundreds of millions of customers across 24 countries, set out to modernize its digital services (including the MyVodafone app) and scale developer-led innovation across markets. Teams were previously siloed, relied on slow email threads, and lacked a consistent way to share code, knowledge and ownership—creating bottlenecks for deployments, incident response and cross-market reuse.

By standardizing on Slack and building rich integrations (custom /team search, CI/CD hooks, PagerDuty, Datadog, etc.), Vodafone created a single source of truth that put control in developers’ hands and enabled instant cross-market collaboration. The change cut deployment cycles from roughly three months to about 30 minutes, reduced mean time to resolution from 15–20 minutes to under five, and accelerated delivery of features and fixes to customers worldwide.
