This strategy included a pillar for community and social value, creating a challenge to effectively engage its supply chain, including vendor SITA, in making a positive local impact.

SITA implemented a volunteering initiative by having its Sustainability Lead collaborate with the Heathrow Community Trust. This resulted in SITA and Heathrow staff volunteering 216 hours to refurbish play areas at a local school, saving the caretaker over two months of work. The program was a success, providing immense community value and establishing a model for SITA to continue supporting local organizations.
