A SITA Case Study

Preview of the Heathrow Airport Case Study

Heathrow Airport saves 216 volunteer hours with SITA

The customer, Heathrow Airport, was focused on achieving its net zero and sustainability goals, as outlined in its 'Balanced Scorecard'. This strategy included a pillar for community and social value, creating a challenge to effectively engage its supply chain, including vendor SITA, in making a positive local impact.

SITA implemented a volunteering initiative by having its Sustainability Lead collaborate with the Heathrow Community Trust. This resulted in SITA and Heathrow staff volunteering 216 hours to refurbish play areas at a local school, saving the caretaker over two months of work. The program was a success, providing immense community value and establishing a model for SITA to continue supporting local organizations.
