Co-op, one of the UK’s largest consumer co‑operatives with over 2,400 food stores and millions of members, set out to optimise its online grocery experience by streamlining navigation, reducing checkout drop-off and offering more payment choices to grow reach while staying member-first.

To meet that challenge Co‑op integrated PayPal to speed checkout (customers don’t need to re-enter card details) and tap a trusted payments brand. The result: rapid adoption with about 10% of customers choosing PayPal, higher conversion and year‑on‑year revenue growth via PayPal, broader and younger demographic reach, and successful joint marketing that drove new-customer acquisition.
