Case Study: IBM builds a 1,000+ candidate talent pool for Africa with ON24 Virtual Show

A ON24 Case Study

How IBM employees learned about career opportunities in the ON24 Virtual Conference

IBM identified Africa as a strategic growth market but faced a short-term need to attract qualified leaders and fill regional roles quickly. Although IBM already had a presence on the continent, rapid investment in data centers and offices created urgency to source internal candidates with African experience or interest.

The Enterprise Career Development team built an internal recruitment campaign—Destination Africa Job Fair—using ON24 and IBM’s Global Opportunity Marketplace. After mining a 400,000-employee database (reviewing 20,000+ resumes), IBM invited 17,000 people; more than 5,200 registered, 3,100 attended, and over 1,000 interested candidates were identified. The virtual fair offered recruiter chats, relocation experts and peer advice, generating a sizable talent pool, ongoing interviews and accepted offers while raising awareness of Africa opportunities.
