Bigbasket improves push notification delivery by 10% with MoEngage Push Amplification

Bigbasket, India’s largest online food and grocery store, faced low push-notification delivery due to OS- and device-level restrictions on many Chinese OEM phones (about 51% of the Indian market), which hurt engagement and conversions. To address this, Bigbasket worked with MoEngage and implemented the MoEngage Push Amplification solution (Push Amplification SDK) to reach users that standard GCM could not.

MoEngage deployed its Push Amplification SDK as a fallback to GCM to deliver notifications directly to restricted OEM devices, resulting in a 10% aggregate increase in push delivery (measured over a 60-day period), a 16% lift in conversions, up to 3.5× delivery gains on certain Chinese OEMs (Vivo 3.75×, Oppo 2.75×, Xiaomi 1.7×, LeMob 2×), and a 17% increase in onboarding campaign delivery—driving higher transactions, retention and customer LTV.
