A Kenshoo Case Study
Skyscanner, the leading flight meta-search site in Europe that serves 40 countries with 90 million monthly searches and $3.5B in downstream bookings, faced the challenge of growing traffic, meeting spend and ROI targets, and expanding into 50+ markets with a six-person team. The company needed adaptive automation to scale campaign optimization, improve in-language regional approaches, and shift away from broad-match strategies without overhauling existing account structures.
Skyscanner deployed Kenshoo Portfolio Optimizer, Keyword Suggest and Kenshoo Editor, and ran a “sandbox” of tests (about 10,000 new keywords monthly) to move traffic from broad to exact match, automate bids, and speed bulk changes. In 90 days this approach drove a 104% increase in conversions (UK), a 78% increase in conversions (France), CPC reductions (£0.09 UK, £0.07 FR), rises in exact-match clicks (28% UK, 24% FR), ROI gains (44% UK, 37% FR), and overall a 20% revenue lift and 33% increase in conversions across applied markets.
