DFS, Britain’s largest sofa retailer with over 50 years in business and 120+ stores across the UK, Ireland, the Netherlands and Spain, wanted to boost product discovery—especially for beds—and make it easier for people to buy directly from its Instagram ads.
DFS added product tags to existing video ads using Instagram Shops so viewers could tap to view items in-app and then go to the product page to add to cart. In a Sept 17–30, 2021 test, tagged video ads drove a 3.7X increase in incremental add-to-cart events, 1.7X higher purchase intent, 4.5X more product exploration, and a 73% lower cost per incremental add-to-cart versus business-as-usual video ads.
