Using urgency messaging to drive engagement and increase conversions

Lenovo, a Fortune 500 manufacturer of laptops, PCs, smartphones, tablets, and other devices, had a website that attracted a high volume of visitors but saw relatively low engagement and conversion rates. The company wanted an easy-to-implement promotion that could encourage more visitors to make a purchase.

Working with Insider, Lenovo used the platform to show a 10% discount coupon that was valid for 10 minutes and targeted visitors who had viewed three or more pages. The time-limited offer helped create urgency and, according to Lenovo, produced a 13.91% uplift in conversion, a 22.08% increase in average session duration, and a 19.07% increase in pageviews.
