Carousell, a fast-growing Asian classifieds marketplace with over 65 million listings, faced stiff competition in the Philippines and needed to attract more sellers and increase app downloads by more effectively engaging mobile users on Facebook.

To do this it ran mobile-optimized video ads across Facebook, Instagram and Audience Network during the November–December peak shopping period, using short, motion-driven clips that showcased the app’s three-step selling process, quick cash benefits and playful branding. The campaign drove strong performance versus photo ads: 2.6× more seller listings, a 53% increase in buyer offers, 57% lower cost per seller listing and 27% lower cost per buyer offer.
