Preview of the Lenovo Case Study

Lenovo runs a week-long accessibility study with dscout

Lenovo, a global technology company, sought to conduct foundational accessibility research with the D/deaf and Hard of Hearing (DHH) community to inform more inclusive product design. The challenge was to engage this underrepresented group remotely and in a way that was flexible and accommodating to their communication needs. They partnered with dscout to utilize its Diary studies product for this initiative.

Using dscout's platform, Lenovo fielded a week-long diary study that offered participants multiple response options, including written, spoken, and signed video. dscout also assisted in recruiting a diverse panel and provided tools for real-time support and accommodation. This approach generated valuable first-hand video insights that served as empathy generators within Lenovo and contributed directly to future accessibility innovations. The project also became an internal best-practice example, advancing Lenovo's goal of a universally inclusive research culture.
