BMW (UK) Manufacturing Ltd., part of BMW Group’s UK operations, needed a comprehensive SMS enterprise software solution for internal communication and business-critical alerts. The company wanted a more mature, flexible, scalable, and reliable replacement for its basic SMS gateway to support employee messaging, automated escalations, and integration with its existing IT environment. Derdack’s Enterprise Alert® was selected as the enterprise SMS gateway.

Derdack implemented Enterprise Alert® to handle internal SMS communication across desktop and web portal users, plus business-critical alerts from BMW’s Tivoli system to the right support teams. The solution enabled delivery notifications, automated escalation to up to five users, and improved monitoring of SMSC and GSM link health. As a result, BMW increased employee mobility and communication speed, helping staff react faster to critical situations and reducing the risk of IT system downtime, while also benefiting from a scalable platform ready for growing message volumes.
