Skyscanner, the global travel marketplace, needed to keep travelers informed and confident during rapidly changing COVID-19 border restrictions while also surfacing timely flight and hotel deals. To address this, Skyscanner partnered with Braze, using Braze-powered campaigns and the Braze Canvas customer journey management feature—adding API-triggered emails and push messaging—to deliver personalized, up-to-the-minute guidance tied to their interactive map and data infrastructure.
Using Braze, Skyscanner built two targeted email journeys—one that alerted users to relevant border and quarantine changes and another that delivered route-targeted deals—triggered automatically when map data changed. The Braze-enabled approach produced 3–4X higher open and click-through rates than average, generated strong positive user feedback, and helped rebuild traveler confidence and conversions.
