Vodafone Group Plc’s Australian joint venture, Vodafone Hutchison Australia (VHA), needed to boost engagement and conversions for its 3 Mobile Australia ecommerce site (shop.three.com.au) and improve the effectiveness of its email marketing.
In July 2009 VHA added Bazaarvoice Ratings & Reviews to product pages and included reviews in marketing emails. A split test showed emails with reviews had a 40% higher click-through rate, and on-site data found visitors who read reviews were 40% more likely to begin the checkout process, with the “Reviews” tab being the most-clicked product-tab—demonstrating a clear lift in engagement and conversion potential.
