Vodafone Australia, the telecommunications leader, faced a plateau in its e-commerce channel as shopping cart abandonment and rising traffic costs made it harder to recover lost online sales opportunities. Working with Adobe Analytics within Adobe Marketing Cloud, and supported by JBA Digital and email service provider technology, Vodafone needed better insight into why customers were dropping out of the purchase journey and how to improve the online buying experience.
Adobe Analytics helped Vodafone capture and analyze real-time customer behavior, survey feedback, and email response data to identify abandonment reasons and trigger targeted remarketing emails and richer product content. The results were strong: 75% email open rates, 15% of sent emails leading to recovered sales, a 7% net increase in online sales, and a 1,700% return on strategic marketing investments, with the program generating $18 for every dollar spent.
