PagerDuty, a global leader in digital operations management, needed a more scalable billing and subscription system as rapid growth made its homegrown process too manual and time-consuming. The company also wanted to improve the customer experience with easier renewals, co-terming, and support for both self-serve and sales-assisted purchasing, so it turned to Zuora and its subscription management platform.
Zuora automated PagerDuty’s order-to-cash process, revenue and billing workflows, and customer messaging for charges, renewals, and credit card expirations. The result was less manual work for finance, a faster sales cycle, easier online renewals and multi-year purchases, and more flexibility to test pricing and packaging; PagerDuty also saw stronger expansion, with about one third of enterprise and mid-market customers expanding in FY21 Q2.
