Case Study: Müller Martini achieves streamlined variant and option handling and reduced manufacturing costs with Zuken E³.series

A Zuken Case Study

Preview of the Müller Martini Case Study

Müller Martini enhances variant and option handling and reduces manufacturing costs by moving to an object-oriented ECAD environment

Müller Martini, a Swiss global leader in print processing machines, faced rising complexity from growing options and variants and needed to replace an end-of-life ECAD tool while improving integration with SAP, MCAD and automation systems. To address distributed collaboration, variant management and manufacturing handover requirements they selected Zuken’s E³.series as their new object‑oriented ECAD platform.

Zuken implemented E³.series with a 150% feature‑tree approach, SAP and Automation Studio interfaces, and direct outputs for cabinet NC drilling and wire processing. As a result, up to 80% of all variants can now be represented in a single E³.series project, manufacturing costs were reduced by using E³.series data for panel drilling, cross‑section and connection checks cut rework, and information transfer across engineering, production and sourcing was significantly streamlined.
