KRONE integrates ECAD, MCAD and ERP to enable integrated design and sourcing

KRONE, a global manufacturer of agricultural machinery, faced fragmented ECAD, MCAD and ERP workflows that left cable harness design as a late-stage afterthought—causing long sourcing lead times, rework and inconsistent quality as the company pushed toward Industry 4.0 and a digital twin approach. To address this, KRONE engaged Zuken and leveraged Zuken’s E³.series as the core electrical design tool.

Zuken implemented E³.series together with the E3.3D Routing Bridge and integrated interfaces to KRONE’s SAP and CATIA environments to enable bidirectional ECAD/MCAD/ERP data flow, automated BOMs and supplier-ready harness specifications. The Zuken solution produced comprehensive wire‑harness manufacturing documentation, measurable cost savings in cable-harness sourcing, improved fit and reduced lead times, and delivered data used across assembly, QA, technical documentation, training and service—demonstrated by the clean, prototype‑ready BiG X 480 harness and expected tender cost reductions.
