A Zuken Case Study
Electroflight, a Gloucester‑based technology company and partner in the Rolls‑Royce‑led ACCEL initiative, needed to fast‑track development of a megawatt‑class all‑electric racing aircraft targeting more than 300 mph. Working to a compressed 24‑month schedule, the team had to integrate a power‑dense battery pack with liquid cooling, complex powertrain and control electronics, and produce accurate electrical and fluid schematics and wiring‑harness data—requirements that led Electroflight to select Zuken’s E3.series.
Zuken implemented E3.series to capture both electrical and hydraulic schematics, generate detailed bills of materials and wiring‑loom documentation, and support rapid “what‑if” iterations with strict version control. E3.series keeps the test rig and schematic data fully synchronized, streamlines outsourced harness manufacture by supplying complete BOMs and pin‑outs, and leverages aerospace/motorsport workflows to meet tight deadlines—enabling planned harness production in late 2019 and supporting Electroflight’s systems testing and flight‑test milestones toward their record attempt.
