achieves reduction of up to 75% in cabinet engineering

Weidmuller, a global leader in electronics and industrial automation, needed a way to simplify customer selection and reduce time-consuming control cabinet engineering when launching its Klippon Connect® terminal block range. To address the challenge of guiding users through thousands of components and keeping product data up to date, Weidmuller worked with Zuken to develop an intelligent configuration solution.

Zuken helped build the Weidmuller Configurator—a guided, 3D-enabled tool with automatic filtering, error checking, and a separated data/UI architecture (compatible with Zuken’s E3.series) using Agile development practices. The result: customers can be guided through more than 5,000 products, achieve up to a 75% reduction in cabinet engineering time, perform library updates without programming, and generate verified BOMs and orders directly from the tool—delivering measurable efficiency gains for Weidmuller.
