Telefónica, a leading integrated telecommunications operator with operations across Europe and Latin America and more than 309 million customers, needed a scalable way to support expansion into Latin America while ensuring reliable, differentiated Internet access for customers worldwide. The company faced challenges with limited Asia presence (which forced costly backhauling or local routing), poor cross-country connectivity, and the operational complexity of deploying and maintaining security appliances across multiple countries.

After an RFP and testing process Telefónica selected Zscaler for its global cloud footprint, elimination of on‑premise appliances, and flexible drill‑down reporting. Zscaler enabled consolidated logging and analytics across geographies, improved performance and lower costs for roaming users (including coverage in Asia), and delivered an easy migration experience that satisfied large customers.
