Zetron’s MAX Call-Taking Integrates 9-1-1 Text and Voice on One Console

Butler County, Iowa’s 9-1-1 center needed to add Text‑to‑9‑1‑1 capability while keeping call‑taking simple and space‑efficient. Zetron’s MAX Call‑Taking was chosen to address that challenge by providing an integrated solution that accepts text and voice on the same console and works on the county’s ESInet/i3 network, improving accessibility for callers who are deaf, speech‑impaired, or unable to make a voice call.

Zetron, with reseller RACOM, upgraded the MAX Call‑Taking system—installing a compact server, applying software revisions, and running interoperability tests with five to six major carriers—to fully integrate Text‑to‑9‑1‑1 on a single console. The deployment, supported by Zetron engineers and product staff, enabled dispatchers to handle simultaneous text and voice calls, passed carrier testing, saved console space, and positioned Butler County to accept future message types, resulting in a faster, more versatile emergency response capability.
