Case Study: Samchully City Gas achieves centralized, intuitive control of Seoul’s gas operations with Zetron’s DCS-5020

Zetron’s DCS-5020 Energizes Seoul, South Korea

Samchully City Gas, the natural-gas distribution utility serving greater Seoul, faced aging remote‑desktop communications gear that could not support multiple iDEN devices or the integrated, graphical control they needed. They engaged Seoul-based Hanswell to deliver a modern solution built on Zetron’s DCS-5020 Digital Console System to centralize and upgrade their command‑center communications.

Zetron’s DCS-5020 was installed (three console positions, ten iDEN ports, three PBX lines and twelve hotlines) and Hanswell trained 12 operators; the intuitive GUI and Korean localization enabled a faster-than-expected transition, improved audio quality, Web/CCTV and radio/PSTN integration, and simplified control from a single console. The Zetron solution met Samchully’s operational requirements, increased operator efficiency, and spurred follow-on project opportunities tied to Korean NEMA requirements.
