A Zetron Case Study
Latah County Sheriff’s Office, which serves about 1,100 square miles in eastern Idaho and provides countywide 9-1-1 dispatching, faced aging (12‑year‑old) call-taking and dispatch equipment, limited space, and the need to prepare for Next‑Generation communications. To modernize operations and enable remote backup capability, the agency selected Zetron and its Zetron MAX Dispatch and MAX Call‑Taking systems, funded by an Idaho Emergency Communications Commission grant and county 9‑1‑1 funds.
Zetron’s MAX systems were installed as three positions (two at the main center and one remote backup), configured for IP‑based remote operations, integrated with a visitor callbox and backup analog phone, and pre‑wired for future expansion. The Zetron solution eliminated the need for a dedicated leased backup line, supported seamless cutover with no service disruptions, and has been operating reliably for nearly a year—giving the Latah County Sheriff’s Office improved redundancy, Next‑Generation readiness, and the ability to offer services to other agencies.
