Toronto Airport Takes Off with Zetron’s AcomEVO

The Greater Toronto Airports Authority (GTAA) needed a modern, highly reliable centralized radio dispatch solution to support operations at Toronto Pearson International—the busiest airport in Canada handling roughly 435,000 flights and nearly 35 million passengers a year. After an RFP, the GTAA selected Zetron’s AcomEVO dispatch solution to replace an aging analog system and to integrate radios, phones/PBX, legacy analog infrastructure and future P25 digital trunking.

Zetron implemented AcomEVO in two phases: a Phase I install of 26 console positions and backroom interfaces, followed by a live Phase II integration to the new P25 network via the P25 CSSI. The Zetron system now serves as the master dispatch console for a three‑site, 12‑channel simulcast P25 solution, delivering interoperable communications with emergency agencies, an expandable platform for additional staff, and a cutover with very few issues thanks to Zetron’s iterative design approach and on-site training.
