Case Study: Columbia County Public Safety Communications and Emergency Management Center achieves NG9-1-1 readiness with Zetron's MAX Call-Taking

A Zetron Case Study

Preview of the Columbia Co. Public Safety Communications and Emergency Management Center Case Study

The MAX Call-Taking system recently installed at the Columbia County 9-1-1 center is designed to make the most of the openstandards-based ESInet that will soon be deployed throughout Washington state

Columbia Co. Public Safety Communications and Emergency Management Center, the primary PSAP for rural Columbia County, needed to replace an aging 9‑1‑1 phone system that couldn’t support Washington state’s upcoming i3 ESInet or required next‑generation features like Text‑to‑9‑1‑1. To modernize and ensure NG9‑1‑1 readiness, the agency selected Zetron’s MAX Call‑Taking system.

Zetron delivered a three‑position MAX Call‑Taking installation integrated with the county’s existing Zetron dispatch console and ShoreTel phone system via SIP trunking, enabling single‑headset control and eliminating more costly interface requirements. The system went live in June 2016 with no interruptions or equipment failures, leaving the Columbia Co. Public Safety Communications and Emergency Management Center ready to accept next‑generation voice and text calls, improve interoperability and redundancy, and simplify long‑term operations.
