Sydney Airport Delivers World-Class Airport Experience with Zetron’s Integrated Communications & Console Systems

Sydney Airport, which handles about 41 million passengers a year, needed a modern integrated communications system for its new Integrated Operations Centre to support 24/7 security, airfield and terminal operations. Having used Zetron’s ACOM system since 2005, the airport sought an upgrade to integrate with digital services and meet requirements such as enhanced telephony, SIP integration, tablet-based consoles and an IP architecture.

Zetron delivered a COTS server‑based ACOM solution and deployed a temporary Conventional Services Gateway (CSG) so the old and new ACOM systems could run concurrently, allowing a smooth migration with rollback capability and train‑the‑trainer rollout. The Zetron solution preserved continuous operations during migration, improved overall coverage and automation in terminal operations, provided a fully redundant, scalable platform for future digital radio migration, and supports the airport’s ongoing ability to serve millions of passengers reliably.
