Case Study: Scott County, Virginia achieves reliable, redundant, future-ready 911 dispatch with Zetron’s MAX Dispatch

A Zetron Case Study

Preview of the Scott County Virginia Case Study

Scott County Virginia’s new MAX Dispatch system is receiving high praise for its reliable performance, ease of use, redundancy, and adaptability

Scott County, Virginia faced a failing, decades-old analog dispatch system that was increasingly expensive to maintain, hard to find parts for, and unreliable for its PSAP serving county law, fire, rescue and wildlife agencies. To modernize their operation they selected Zetron’s IP-based MAX Dispatch (recommended and supported locally by Two-Way Radio) to replace the legacy consoles and meet growing technology and reliability needs.

Zetron delivered and helped stage a four-position MAX Dispatch system that was customized to dispatcher preferences and installed in parallel with the old system for a smooth cutover. Since the Zetron MAX Dispatch went live, Scott County reports strong reliability and redundancy (dual network ports), no overnight service calls since installation, easier maintenance and a clear path for cost‑effective expansion—an outcome the county calls a “five‑star” system.
