Case Study: Sun Valley Heli Ski achieves reliable mountain-wide communications and enhanced guest and public-safety response with Zetron MT-4E Series

A Zetron Case Study

Preview of the Sun Valley Heli Ski Case Study

Reliable communications network plays vital role in delivering one-of-a-kind ski adventures and supporting public safety missions

Sun Valley Heli Ski, a veteran heli‑ski operator in Idaho, depends on reliable radio communications to coordinate pilots, guides, dispatchers and guests across remote mountain terrain. After their legacy network experienced outages, noise and coverage gaps that jeopardized guest experience and safety, Sun Valley Heli Ski engaged Zetron and selected the MT‑4E Series to address the problem.

Zetron decommissioned the old system and installed MT Series/MT‑4E repeaters—including a solar‑powered main repeater at 10,000 feet and tactical radios flown to peaks to fill coverage shadows—providing public‑safety‑grade interoperability with local agencies. The Zetron solution has run reliably in extreme conditions (down to −40°F), removed prior outages, improved day‑to‑day operations for up to 16 clients per day, and now supports coordinated search-and-rescue missions and life‑saving responses.
