MAX Dispatch Chosen by Those Who Save Lives

Rural/Metro Medical Services, an ambulance provider serving 22 hospitals, more than 100 nursing homes and over one million residents in western New York, faced an aging, poorly supported dispatch console whose failures and remote-only vendor service impaired a mission‑critical operation. To modernize and improve reliability they selected Zetron’s IP‑based MAX Dispatch, with local implementation and ongoing support by reseller Saia Communications.

Zetron’s MAX Dispatch was installed as a seven‑position console (four dispatcher, two call‑taker, one supervisor), integrated into Rural/Metro’s wide‑area trunking network and consolidated MDC‑1200 IDs into a single console. The cutover was completed in one night, Saia provides rapid on‑site support, and the system delivered measurable operational gains — reduced clutter, faster dispatching, easier on‑the‑fly training, expanded remote dispatch and event capabilities — improving reliability and service delivery across Rural/Metro’s coverage area.
