Case Study: Franklin County, KY achieves reliable, Next-Generation i3-ready call-taking and model PSAP status with Zetron's MAX Call-Taking

A Zetron Case Study

Preview of the Franklin County Case Study

MAX Call-Taking Shines Bright in Kentucky

Franklin County’s Frankfort-Franklin County 9-1-1 Center was operating an end-of-life call-taking system that was increasingly hard to support and lacked next‑generation capabilities. To address the risk of failure and the need for i3-ready features (text, photos, video), Franklin County selected Zetron’s IP-based MAX Call‑Taking system.

Zetron implemented a five‑position MAX Call‑Taking solution, staged and cut over with support from RCS Communications on Nov. 13, 2014, funded via a KACo lease‑to‑own program. The system has operated reliably since installation, supports a PSAP that handles nearly 150,000 calls annually, enabled a smooth transition to Next‑Gen functionality, and has made the Franklin County center a “lighthouse” site and model for other agencies considering Zetron’s MAX Call‑Taking.
