Making the Difference Zetron MAX Dispatch brings Safety and Security to The University of New Mexico

The University of New Mexico Police Department needed a modern, vendor-agnostic, IP-based dispatch solution that would support NG9-1-1, instant call recording, built-in redundancy and interoperability with existing Harris radios and potential future P25 systems. After 15 years on Zetron’s 4020 consoles, UNM engaged Zetron (with reseller Advanced Communications and Electronics) to replace the aging system with Zetron’s MAX Dispatch and MAX Call Taking products.

Zetron pre-staged and installed the MAX Dispatch/MAX Call Taking system and cut over to the new consoles in January 2018, maintaining interfaces to Harris 800MHz, Motorola MTR2000 and support for EDACS and P25 standards while adding IP recording and redundancy. The deployment delivered smoother operations and measurable benefits—dispatchers report much clearer audio, an intuitive user interface, NG9-1-1 readiness, and an additional console position for future expansion—backed by ongoing support from Zetron.
