Making One of America’s Safest Cities Even Safer Zetron’s MAX Dispatch and Call-Taking Deliver Efficiency over IP

The Mundelein Police Department, which serves the village of Mundelein (population ~31,000) and fields roughly 8,000 9‑1‑1 calls per year, needed to replace end‑of‑life call‑taking and dispatch equipment and prepare for Next‑Gen 9‑1‑1. They chose Zetron’s IP‑based MAX Dispatch and MAX Call‑Taking systems to provide a single‑vendor, modern solution.

Zetron delivered five positions each of MAX Dispatch and MAX Call‑Taking, integrated with the center’s CAD, logging recorder, Lake County EDACS and the Illinois P25 radio network, and worked with reseller Radicom to run systems in parallel, customize screens, and train staff; the solution went live in March 2014. The Zetron deployment improved dispatcher efficiency, interoperability and accuracy — meeting all project goals, exceeding expectations, and helping the department respond more quickly and reliably to calls.
