In a Digital Age – Tradition Delivers New System for Malden PD

The Malden Police Department had been operating with decades-old communications equipment and faced the real risk of catastrophic failure as it prepared to move into a new 24,000 sq. ft. headquarters under tight budget constraints. Zetron was engaged to replace the aging consoles and infrastructure, providing its MAX Dispatch product and a new P25 digital radio backbone to modernize the department’s dispatch capabilities.

Zetron delivered three MAX Dispatch consoles with a redundant network and integrated P25 radios (in partnership with Tait), enabling a staged migration that kept both old and new facilities fully operational and completed a seamless cutover on Halloween night. The Zetron solution brought clearer audio, automatic outage notifications, multiple redundancies that eliminate single points of failure, no service calls since installation, and measurable improvements in reliability and operational continuity.
