Greene County Emergency Services - Customer Case Study

Greene County Emergency Services, the 16-person 911 center serving Greene County, NY and its seasonal visitors, was struggling with an aging Motorola Centracom console while handling roughly 85,000 calls a year for 50,000 residents and coordinating 9 police agencies, 27 fire departments and 14 EMS squads. Seeking greater flexibility, easier dispatcher workflows and a backup center that mirrored the main site without buying a separate core, the agency selected Zetron’s ACOM console solution to modernize its communications center.

Zetron, working with local partner NYCOMCO, deployed an ACOM Core supporting seven console positions, multiple Media Controller Servers, 30 conventional service gateways for 60 radio channels and 67 SIP logging outputs, and provided two remote stations to mirror the main operations center without a second core. The system went live within two weeks, included on-site training and fast configuration changes, and has since operated seamlessly through large winter incidents—streamlining dispatcher workflows, reducing deployment downtime and delivering the scalable, customizable console Greene County needed.
