City of Weslaco Upgrades Equipment and Regional Communications Center with Zetron

The Weslaco Police Department in Weslaco, TX needed to replace an aging analog radio system and stand up a new regional dispatch center while solving interoperability challenges. Working with integrator Tri-County Communications, they selected Zetron’s MAX Dispatch to provide a modern, flexible console solution that could interface with existing radios and networks.

Zetron implemented a staged MAX Dispatch deployment—patching the VHF analog system to a new P25 digital system, then moving dispatchers after two weeks of shop testing—installing eight Zetron console positions, 19 Harris M7300 radios, 10 radio gateways and two MAX Central Gateways. The transition was seamless, required minimal training, remained patched until all radios were replaced, and the project was completed on time and on budget, delivering improved interoperability and a fully operational regional communications center.
