ScholarMatch Tracks Donations Across Databases & Email Automatically

ScholarMatch, a nonprofit helping low-income and first-generation students apply to college and succeed through graduation, needed a better way to manage donations, donor communications, and student feedback across multiple tools. To support its crowdfunded scholarships and student services, the team used Zapier with Stripe, Airtable, Gmail, and Gravity Forms.

Zapier automated the flow of new Stripe charges into Airtable and triggered thank-you emails to donors through Gmail, while also moving student survey submissions from Gravity Forms into Airtable for the program team. This helped ScholarMatch track donations and respond to donors around the clock, while keeping student concerns organized and actionable as the program grew to support 698 students in 2016, up from 39 initially.
