Metal Potato, a web design studio led by Andrew MacDonald, was spending too much time on repetitive invoice admin after client payments came in through Stripe. The team needed a better way to create FreshBooks contacts and invoices without manually copying over payment details each time, and chose Zapier to automate the process.

Zapier implemented a multi-step workflow connecting Stripe and FreshBooks: when a new Stripe payment arrives, it creates or finds the client record, generates the invoice, and marks the payment on it automatically. This eliminated manual invoice work and gave Metal Potato back more than five hours every week, letting Andrew focus on designing websites instead of admin.
