How automation helped Halo Cars scale

Halo Cars, a rideshare advertising startup, needed a way to scale its driver onboarding and operational workflows without hiring a large engineering team. Before using Zapier, the process was highly manual, involving spreadsheets, emails, Google Drive, and multiple team touchpoints that took 2–3 hours per driver.

Zapier helped Halo Cars automate those workflows by connecting tools like Airtable, Gmail, Slack, Twilio, Typeform, DocuSign, and Google Sheets. With Zapier, the team cut onboarding from hours to minutes, reduced manual steps from more than 10 to 0–1, and scaled from about 10 drivers per day to hundreds. Halo Cars said Zapier saved tens of thousands of hours of manual work and helped the company grow fast enough to be acquired by Lyft in about 10 months.
