How a team of volunteers is working to restore wealth to Black communities

Rebuild Black Business, a volunteer-run initiative to restore wealth to Black communities, needed a faster way to centralize resources, manage a growing directory of 14,000+ Black-owned businesses, and keep supporters and businesses connected. With hundreds of volunteers moving quickly, the team needed to automate routine workflows so they could focus on development and outreach.

Using Zapier, Rebuild Black Business connected Airtable to Mailchimp, automated social posting between Facebook and Twitter, and enriched business listings by setting city and state from ZIP codes. Zapier saved the team an estimated 5–6 hours per week, helping them manage data and email subscribers more efficiently while supporting their fast-growing platform.
