How End Violence Against Women understood attitudes to sexual consent with YouGov

The End Violence Against Women Coalition, a leading coalition campaigning to end violence against women, needed to understand public attitudes toward sexual consent to address a crisis in the justice system's handling of rape cases. To tackle this challenge, they commissioned YouGov to conduct custom research.

YouGov implemented a solution using both quantitative surveys and qualitative focus groups. The research revealed widespread misconceptions about rape and consent, with key findings showing that a third of men believe a woman cannot change her mind after sex has started. The End Violence Against Women Coalition used these results from YouGov to publish an influential report, raise public awareness, and educate juries to better support victims.
