World-class fashion retailer selects VESDA-E smoke detectors to protect new logistics center

Mango, the international fashion retailer, built a new 395,000 m2 logistics centre north of Barcelona (completed Summer 2015, full service January 2016) to support rapidly growing global operations. Protecting valuable inventory and ensuring business continuity in a facility with 46 m ceilings, high airflow and vast open areas presented a unique smoke-detection challenge.

Mango selected Xtralis VESDA-E VEU aspirating detectors, installed by Cotein Fire with systems integration by Zettler, deploying 200+ units to cover the site. VESDA-E’s ultra‑sensitivity (up to 15× VESDA VLP), long pipe‑run capability and coverage of up to 2,000 m2 per detector allowed fewer devices to protect wide areas, solved the high‑ceiling and airflow issues, and exceeded the project’s fire‑protection requirements.
