Jack Daniel - Customer Case Study

Jack Daniel’s Distillery in Lynchburg, Tennessee, produces millions of gallons of whiskey and stores large volumes in multi-story barrel warehouses that present high fire risk due to flammable liquids and rapid fire spread. With industry incidents showing catastrophic property and environmental damage, the company needed reliable early-stage smoke detection beyond standard code-compliant measures to protect assets, workers, and surrounding communities.

Jack Daniel’s installed VESDA VLP Class 1, Division 2 air-sampling detectors—each covering up to 20,000 sq ft—rolling out more than 120 units by 2004 and over 240 by 2012. The system delivers very early warning, programmable thresholds to reduce false alarms, easy centralized maintenance, and tailored detection for warehouse conditions, giving the distillery faster investigation and response, improved asset protection, and cost-effective fire risk mitigation.
