Irish Aviation Authority - Customer Case Study

The Irish Aviation Authority (IAA), which manages air traffic and safety regulation in Irish-controlled airspace, needed to protect a central control centre plus six remote radar and radio sites across Shannon, Cork and Mayo. With heavy transatlantic traffic and heightened post-9/11 threats, IAA required a remotely managed perimeter and multi-site monitoring system that could cover large areas, work in low visibility and reduce false alarms to keep staff, visitors and critical equipment safe.

IAA deployed ADPRO PRO Series infrared detectors and the ADPRO FastTrace multi-site video system: high-mounted PIR detectors that spot human intruders to 150 m, resist tampering and filter out animals/vegetation, then trigger FastTrace to send images to the Shannon control room. The installation was straightforward, proven reliable in Irish weather, improved remote monitoring of all sites, reduced false alarms and also provides recorded footage for quick health-and-safety investigations — delivering the protection IAA required.
