Hertfordshire County Council - Customer Case Study

Hertfordshire County Council, which runs more than 450 schools and employs over 20,000 people, was facing rising vandalism and theft of high-value items across its schools. Starting with trials at a secondary school in Stevenage (and a subsequent primary in Welwyn Garden City), the council sought a scalable CCTV solution that could reduce incidents and be extended county-wide using broadband connections.

The council deployed ADPRO FastTrace with ADPRO VideoCentral Gold in its Stevenage Control Room to provide multi-site video alarm verification, real-time audio warnings, and long-duration evidential recording (120 days storage at 1 ips on 10 cameras). The system relays images from 144 cameras across nine town centres, lets operators monitor 20+ sites from one PC with up to four simultaneous users, and delivers secure, cost-effective remote monitoring and playback — reducing incidents and providing a scalable platform for wider roll-out across council amenities.
