Arriva Trains Wales - Customer Case Study

Arriva Trains Wales, a major UK rail operator serving South Wales, needed a single, easy-to-use remote CCTV solution to monitor 77 stations for theft, vandalism, assaults and ticket evasion. With each station having different layouts, control-room staff who were not familiar with every site, strict technical requirements and a limited budget (funded by the Welsh Assembly Government), Arriva required a scalable system that could be operated centrally and deployed without disrupting service.

Arriva appointed Track Safe Telecom to install ADPRO FastTrace and VideoCentral, delivering 24/7 central monitoring with remotely controlled PTZ/dome cameras, PA/intercom integration and up to 100 images per second. The system provides up to 12 months of alarm retrieval, tamper-proof watermarked images suitable for evidence, and high-quality footage enabling face and number-plate recognition. The project was completed on time and within budget, improving security monitoring, operational management and passenger confidence across the network.
