3M, a global manufacturing company with more than 80,000 employees across six business lines, needed a reliable way to deliver emergency notifications to staff across many departments, locations and devices. With contact data changing frequently, ensuring up-to-date, high-quality information was critical to reaching the right people quickly during crises.
3M integrated xMatters Business Continuity Management with its Global Information Network (GWN), giving employees a self-service way to list, validate and update the devices and channels they want to be contacted on; employees are auto-enrolled but may opt out. The approach improved data quality, enabled targeted delivery to preferred devices, and produced an opt-out rate below 2%.
