Ariba, a leading provider of collaborative B2B commerce solutions used by hundreds of thousands of companies, faced growing pains with a home‑grown sales compensation system first built in 2004. By 2009 the SQL‑based tool could not scale to support dozens of plans and ~500 payees, lacked automation, visibility and reporting, required manual Excel commission statements, and didn’t fit Ariba’s cloud strategy.
In July 2010 Ariba implemented Xactly Incent with Xactly Analytics and Delta, going live for fiscal 2011. The cloud solution now manages 60+ compensation plans for 567 sales and service employees in 20 currencies, provides consolidated data for accurate commissions, self‑service visibility for reps and managers, faster financial reporting and plan approvals (60% signed within a week vs. up to nine weeks previously), and fewer disputes—delivering measurable time savings and better business agility.
